Hey all, i'm beginning to spec out a new rig and am leaning towards i7 860 (1156) CPU. Is anybody here running one, if so, what mobo you using?

I plan to run Win 7 Pro, single nvidia PCIx 2.0 video card, 6gb ram and a couple drives in Raid 0 (onboard). Nothing spectacular, onboard audio is fine as well.

Thanks,

GundamKnight (the other white Knight meat)

hoody and I are... we both run ASRocks p55 Deluxe.

I think we both would run something different now though.

Gigabyte’s GA-P55-UD6 my choice ...

Gigabyte P55-UD4P better deal. I think hoody likes the UD3?

Yup. I am totally happy with the ASRock. It's solid, reliable, and very overclockable. However, when we were buying, there were only a few out and very few reviews. If I were to do it again, I would definitely go with one of the Gigabyte boards. Specific one depending on your budget.

Also, why 6GB of mem? The 1156 boards are NOT tri-channel, they are duel. So you might want to look at a 2x2GB RAM kit and go with 4GB. Cracka went super-sized his order and has 8GB. ;-)

I opted for an eVga E655 P55 mobo for a core i7 860 build. Been great thus far.
